This week the Charity Commission is marking national Trustee Week. Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work. Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.
The staff here at Chippenham Borough Lands Charity would like to thank all our wonderful trustees for all their hard work and dedication to the charity.
Here is a little more about one of our Trustees – Don Steele – Click here to read the full interview with Don pdf
We were recently honoured to collect this award given to us by Chipenham Town Council in recognition of our work in the local Community.
The next couple of deadlines for completing grant applications in 2018 are: –
- Monday 29th October 2018 (for a funding decision at the full Trustee meeting Monday 19th November)
- Monday 26th November 2018 (for a funding decision at the full Trustee meeting Monday 17th December)
A big thank you to Chippenham Civic Society for the kind recognition of the new car park we have built off Pewsham Way to allow people to more fully enjoy our land.
Chippenham Borough Lands Charity has a site on the river by Baydon’s Meadow which is just under 1 acre.
This site used to be the BMX track back in 2004. Since then the site has been flattened and left to become overgrown.
Further to a news item on BBC Radio Wiltshire the Trustees are welcoming ideas as to the future use of this land. Please note that it is land locked with no services and boarders the river on one side.
If you have an idea of how this land could be used please contact us http://www.cblc.org.uk/contact/
