Chippenham Borough Lands Charity
"Our past helping your future"
Points to Note
  • CBLC would not wish to take on responsibility for management of any project
  • Each application is considered on its own merits and it must not be presumed that grants will be automatically renewed each year

Individual Applications

  • Please tell us exactly what you need help with and how much you think it will cost.  We will also need to know who else lives in your household.  We will not be able to consider an application without this information.

  • If you are applying for mobility equipment eg. wheelchairs/scooters etc. we will ask you to attend the Independent Living Centre for them to assess which equipment would best suit your needs

  • We need to know about anyone else you have approached for assistance, as we may be able to consider joint funding.

  • We need to know about any previous help you have had from us, as we will not be able to consider your application if you have had help from us within the past two years (or one year for educational applications/mobility aids) unless your circumstances are exceptional.  In that case you should contact our Welfare Officer who may be able to advise you on whether to submit your application or give further help about other organisations who may be able to help you.

  • We also need to know what we helped you with, for example, we only help with debts such as rent or utility arrears once.

  • If you are receiving benefits you must first apply for a Community Care Grant. CCGs are non-repayable grants to help people live independently in the community.  Contact the local CAB or Department for Work & Pensions for help and advice on how to claim.

  • All sources of statutory funding must be explored before approaching CBLC.
