Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a selection of answers to some of the most common questions that we get asked. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information and advice.

  • You need to be currently living in Chippenham within the Parish boundary and have lived in Chippenham for over 6 months.*
  • Our individual grants are for those on a means tested benefit.

Our individual grants tend not to be given out annually but there are specific occasions and exceptional circumstances when you could apply for more than one grant in two years. Please contact the office for more detail.

  • We give grants to organisations or groups which benefit the residents of Chippenham.
  • Organisations do not need to be registered as charities provided they are not for profit, not subject to UK tax rules and that the purpose they are applying for a grant is charitable and will benefit the local community. You will however need a constitution and a community bank account to apply.

Yes – although we can’t guarantee that we will be able to provide funding to you every year and we don’t want people to be reliant on our funding.

We do not as a rule fund salaries except the proportion related to the delivery of the project. Organisations must adhere to the relevant laws on employment equality when appointing employees and volunteers.
Yes we can support individuals with course costs but we are unable to support first or master degrees.
Yes we do – please complete our individual application enquiry form and one of our grants officers will get in contact with you. Alternatively you can contact us for more information on this.  During the processing of your application we may also ask that you attend an Occupational Therapy assessment at the Independent Living Centre, Semington. They are a charity organisation who offer impartial advice to older and disabled people, helping to find practical solutions for easier living. You can visit them and get an assessment from them with or without our involvement.

No we can’t currently help with funding carpets or new flooring.
