Grants for Individuals

Our individual grant programme is aimed at helping residents of Chippenham who are facing challenging circumstances.

What we can help with

We give grants for things like:

  • Food provision
  • White goods (fridges, washing machines, etc.)
  • Furniture
  • Mobility aids
  • Debt relief
  • Emergency supplies
  • Funeral costs
  • Education resources
  • Course fees and travel

What we can't help with

  • Costs you have already paid for
  • Carpets or flooring
  • Housing association property upgrades

You can apply for yourself, or an agency can apply for you. We accept applications anytime. Our staff can help you apply if it’s difficult.

To see if you can apply for help from us, you need to meet certain requirements. You must:

  • Live in the Parish of Chippenham and have lived there for more than 6 months
  • Get benefits based on how much money you have
  • Have a low income

The benefits that allow you to apply are:

  • Universal Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Guarantee Pension Credit

For low income, this means:

If you meet these eligibility requirements about where you live and your income, then you may be able to get help from our individual grant programme.
